Sadhvi Devi Sangameshananda Saraswathy fondly known as Devi Mataji, hails from the southern state of Kerala and follows the Sanyasa Dheeksha in the Sivananda tradition of Hrishikesh. Devi Mataji is also an ardent devotee and Upasaka of Shri Bala Tripura Sundari and Badrakali.
Growing up in a religious middle-class family in Kerala, from a very young age, Devi Mataji had immense affinity towards religion, devotion and reading. After completing her Masters in Philosophy, Devi Mataji’s interest in exploring Puranas and Scriptures took her to various scholars and masters. Continued interaction with such divine entities, combined with a very intuitive mind and flare for reading the path was set by the Devi Mataji’s rare ability to memorize, analyze and debate gave her many opportunities and platforms to present her views, co-ordinate events and conduct classes in Bhagavatam, Bhagavat Gita & Ramayana.
Devi Mataji received Sanyasa deeksha from Sampoojya Swami Shri Prabhakarananda Saraswathy at Nanadurga Navagraha temple in Thrisshur Dist. She completed her studies in Vedic scriptures, Poojas & Homa rituals and Mahameru Shri Chakra Upasana under her Guru Swami Prabhakarananda Saraswathy.

- Devi Mataji mastered Shri Rudram as main subject under the tutelage of Param Poojya Swami Dharshananda Saraswathy.
- She completed in-depth study in Bhagavat Gita, Itihasas and Puranas under Swamini Vimalanada Saraswathy of Chinmaya Mission Coimbatore.
- Devi Mataji studied ‘Temple traditions and rituals in Sanatana Dharma’ under the guidance of renowned scholar Dr. K. Aravindakshan
- Devi Mataji held the position of “Udgada” for more than 300 Chandika Havans, 40 Rudra Homams and many other Yagas and Yagyas till date.
- Devi Mataji was the chief coordinator for the Soma Yagas which took place in Pathanamthitta and Perumudiyur in Kerala.
- In 2023, prior to the Shri Rudra Yagam in Kerala, Devi Mataji was entrusted with the responsibility of teaching Shri Rudram to 1800 ladies, who later took part in the Yagam and chanted Shri Rudram. This mega religious cum Cosmic event found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
- Devi Mataji have written several books including Soma Yagam, Mahadeva Tatvam and Laghu Sukta Sarvam.
